Last Tuesday, our partners at Colorado Progressive Coalition (CPC) -an affiliate of Alliance for a Just Society- joined with Occupy Denver, MoveOn Colorado and other community and homeowner advocacy organizations to host a demonstration calling for Wells Fargo to end its practices of robosigning, fraudulent foreclosures and a host of other devious tactics that have been destroying our families and neighborhoods.

The demonstration highlighted one couple's foreclosure and those in attendance asked that Wells Fargo call off its scheduled auction date of their home set to occur Thursday, July 26th. The homeowners were hoping to receive a loan modification.

Due to the tenacity of the demonstrators, Wells Fargo opened its doors to one of the homeowners, and she was able to speak with a bank president. While there were no assurances given, the date of the auction was pushed back, giving more time for the family to organize and keep their home.

CPC's Corrine Fowler told those in attendance that CPC, along with a coalition of partners, will be working to end these common practices of the "too big to fail banks" at the Colorado General Assembly this year.
